A sign of the time

We held a group interview this week for a new position of an administrator for our office and firstly, would point out that we had over 20 applications, which is unusual based upon previous adverts placed for similar roles.

At the interview we had five attend (albeit that seven were supposed to turn up) and four out of the five were there becuase they had recently been made redundant, as a result of the credit crunch.

As we went around the table and asked each of the interviewees to introduce themselves and to provide a reason for applying, it soon became apparent that the majority were there for the same unfortunate reason.
