I've read that the solution to inappropriate emotional thinking is in understanding the background of these thoughts and it's logic, which might be wrong or right. Author also said that fighting bad thought with good (emotional) thoughts usually doesn't work because negative emotions are four times as strong as positive (they are more important - they keep us alive).

Hi Ed - yes I agree with you it is always a good idea to get a second opnion and where you can find a mentor who can help you along the way. Using a person that has already acheived in business as a mentor would be a great help, as they will know many of the pitfalls and how to avoid these and how to encourage you too!

I completly agree, many people in business suffer from a 'fear of failure', and yes, positive thinking is the best way forward. I personally find that if your struggling to implement an idea, its best to share it with a colleague or friend in the business industry. A second opinion is sometimes what's needed to give you confidence and urge you on.

I definitely notice this problem in me -- I'll have a negative image about my business, and it puts me off even getting started on things. Visualising success does certainly help, though sometimes thinking logically can help me to get over things too: I think a combination of both works best.
