FTSE 250 Index

The FTSE 250 Index is the UK’s index of 101-350 companies as calculated by market capitalisation on the London Stock Exchange.

The companies listed on the FTSE 250 Index are selected on a quarterly basis and the changes take place in the months of March, June, September and December. As with the FTSE 100 Index this index is calculated in real-time.

The FTSE 350 Index is an amalgamation of the FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 companies.

The FTSE 100 Index, also known as the “footsie” is the UK’s share index of the 100 most highly capitalised UK companies listed on the London Stock Exchange.

The FTSE 100 index commenced in 1984 with a starting level of 1000 and is the most published index on the london share market exchange and is seen as a barometer of how UK shares are fairing and of a measure of business prosperity.
